Artist's Comments

There's a million and one things I could say about this, most of which will mean nothing to many.

But Simply to the Cross

just come,
just come as you are,
not as you'd hope,
but as you are.

This is a gorgeous shot! Where did you take it? I love that the man's standing there, not by the central cross, and his stance... and the sky/silhouette setup is just perfect. x

thank you. This was taken in Devon at a place called Lee Abbey

Have you heard of it.

It's a christian community in the middl of nowhere

Hey Man, long time!

Nice shot, I'd sure like to hear those words you have to say :)

Well its the figure that really struck when i looked back at this photo. When i see him the fact that he is leaning gives that impression he is sorrowful in a contemplative mood and i was felt his head was bowing. You know how it is when your in regret or sorry you bow your head in shame.
Then he is leaning of all the things 'the cross' which to me always made me feel that when we lean we are not stable so we lean on the cross, on Jesus, on his sacrifice.
We remember we miss the mark. I had a picture once that i was on one of the two crosses by the centre one (one of the thieves) of course we should have been there but it really struck me the scorn Jesus suffered its not a passive act it, I was receiving the scorn i deserved, i hate how we passively forget the price paid, it was a humbling experience for sure.

Ive got another image taken from same place and its called still still waters its in my collection, and its just vast open sea, reminded me of the opening paragraph of genesis and i was looking over the water it was never ending but it was so peaceful, and it gave me this real sense of God saying "my will has been done, so you can have peace"
